Our Story

The choir's greatest desire is to sing love and hope through the energy, depth and sensitivity of contemporary gospel music. The choir was founded in 1983 under the name of the 'JP de St Matthieu', since 1990 the choir's name is One Step.

The arrival of Samuel Jonckheere in 1993, led the choir to a whole new level of technique and interpretation. As a gifted director, musician, composer and singer, he has transmitted his desire for excellency in each and every choir member. By working on vocal technique, english pronounciation and interpretation, Samuel Jonckheere enables One Step to reach its full potential.

Through the years, One Step has acquired valuable stage experience through concerts, weddings, and private events. The choir has performed several times for television and radio programmes, and has recorded two studio albums as well as a live album.
